Excursion High Atlas / Stroll at Imlil

Toubkal peaks at 4 167 m . It is the highest summit of all North Africa . At the middle-hillside, villages with houses made of clay, are nested surrounded by crops in terraces.

Departure to Imlil via Tahanaout and Gorges of Moulay Brahim by a sinuous mountain road punctuated by small Berber villages. Each village is snuggled up against the foothills of the Atlas, and built in terraces. Succession of very varied landscapes and luxuriant vegetation.Passage by Asni, Berber village in the heart of the Atlas, administrative centre and crossroad for the inhabitants of surrounding mountains.

Arrival in Imlil for an ideal stroll dedicated to the nearby villages. At first Imlil, then Mzik and Arhene, which offer new perspectives on the valley dominated by the abrupt hillsides of the Massif of Toubkal (highest summit of North Africa, second of Africa, 4167m). Lunch at Kasbah Du Toubkal .

Continuation, stroll towards the Cirque of Aremd. Green basin, at the foot of the village identically named, all built of red stones on big ancient glacial remains blocking all the valley. Descent along the torrent of Mizane then continuation along the small irrigation canal under walnuts to join Targua Timoulay.Then our stroll ends in Imlil where we'll find the minibus to return to Marrakech at the end of the afternoon.
